SMETHPORT, Pa. (AP) — Some Democrats in rural Pennsylvania are afraid to tell you they’re Democrats.
The party’s brand is so toxic in the small towns 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh that some liberals have removed bumper stickers and yard signs and refuse to acknowledge publicly their party affiliation. These Democrats are used to being outnumbered by the local Republican majority, but as their numbers continue to dwindle, those who remain are feeling increasingly isolated and unwelcome in their own communities.
“The hatred for Democrats is just unbelievable,” said Tim Holohan, an accountant based in rural McKean County who recently encouraged his daughter to get rid of a pro-Joe Biden bumper sticker. “I feel like we’re on the run.”
The climate across rural Pennsylvania is symptomatic of a larger political problem threatening the Democratic Party heading into the November elections. Beyond losing votes in virtually every election since 2008, Democrats have been effectively ostracized from the overwhelmingly white parts of rural America, leaving party leaders with few options to reverse a cultural trend that is redefining the political landscape.

Billionaire Bill Gates admitted that the omicron variant has created a high level of natural immunity and has moved out into the world faster than the vaccines.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, the Microsoft co-founder was asked to assess where the world is today regarding the pandemic in light of vaccines; he lamented that the world had failed to distribute vaccines faster, allowing for the virus to mutate into the omicron variant that has infected a lot of people as hospitalization rates decline.
“Sadly, the virus itself, particularly, the variant called omicron, is a type of vaccine, that is it creates both B-cell and T-cell immunity, and it’s done a better job getting out to the world population than we have with vaccines,” he lamented.
Gates noted that surveys in Africa show that up to 80 percent of people have either been vaccinated or have been infected with one of the variants.
“That means the chance of severe disease, which is mainly associated with being elderly and having obesity or diabetes, those risks are now dramatically reduced because of that infection, exposure,” he said.

Despite this, Bill Gates emphasized that the world moved too slow to create an adequate therapeutic and moved too slow in vaccine distribution.
“It’s sad we didn’t do a great job on therapeutics, only two years in, and we have a good therapeutic. Vaccines have took us two years to be in oversupply. Today, there are more vaccines than there is demand for vaccines,” he said.

Nearly 500 People Arrested in California in Human Trafficking Sting Operation

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva coordinated a state-wide law enforcement effort annual multi-agency statewide initiative that focuses on rescuing victims of sexual slavery and human trafficking. The annual campaign also works to identify and arrest their captors, and disrupt demand for victims. The operation occurred the week before the Super Bowl, conducted at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
“All across the state, law enforcement agencies joined us to send a message to pimps, exploiters and buyers that it is unacceptable to buy another human being for sexual purposes,” Villanueva said.
In a Contra Costa County suburb, authorities captured a man allegedly running a nationwide prostitution ring. A search with a warrant discovered two handguns, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun, body armor and 100 rounds of ammunition, according to the sheriff.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco described how his department uncovered people involved in the shadowy business. He said task force officers placed decoy advertisements on popular classified advertisement websites commonly used for the solicitation of prostitution. The officers then responded to people who replied to their ads. Once an agreement for prostitution was reached any customers who arrived at the agreed-upon meeting place, were arrested.
Other task force officers responded to escort advertisements that were posted online in the area and negotiated for acts of prostitution. Females who showed up to meet the undercover officers were interviewed. Women whom officers determined were not victims of human trafficking were arrested.
US Agencies Quietly Studying Reports of Post-Vaccination Neurological Issues
News that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have identified additional adverse side effects related to COVID vaccines is alarming but not surprising.
According to The Epoch Times, Dr. Janet Woodcock, principal deputy director of the FDA, agency epidemiologists, Dr. Peter Marks, and a team at the NIH’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) have studied reports of neurologic side effects from the COVID-19 vaccines since at least Sept. 13, 2021.
According to the E.T. report, regulatory officials are not properly reporting adverse reaction data, “despite a growing recognition among experts that at least some issues are likely linked to the vaccines.”
According to a Sept. 16, 2021 email reviewed by The Epoch Times, Woodcock noted she was “sorry” people were reporting post-vaccine problems but that she was trying to find ways to address the problem.
Woodcock also wrote that she was researching the “neurologic side effects from the COVID 19 vaccines.”
