Chimera

This is a subject that is a work in progress.

I recently went down a rabbit trail due to a word I looked up. The word was “chimera”. I found it extremely interesting considering its many uses and especially the origins of the word from Mythology and that the word is used in science, and it is also used in the game “Dungeons and Dragons. There are several types of Chimeras as well… Even Human Chimeras!

Webster’s says, the Chimera was a fearsome, fire-breathing monster with a lion’s head, a goat’s body, and a dragon’s tail. She terrorized the people of Lycia until their king, Iobates, asked the hero Bellerophon to slay her. Iobates had an ulterior motive; his son-in-law wanted Bellerophon killed and the king was sure the Chimera would do the job. But Bellerophon called in Pegasus, the winged horse, and brought the Chimera down from above. The beast lived on in people’s imaginations, and English speakers adopted her name for any similarly grotesque monster, or, later, for anything fanciful.Websters Online Dictionary-Chimera – Under Did you know?

Abstract

The number and variability of the neutralizing epitopes targeted by polyclonal antibodies in SARS-CoV-2 convalescent and vaccinated individuals are key determinants of neutralization breadth and the genetic barrier to viral escape1–4. Using HIV-1 pseudotypes and plasma-selection experiments with vesicular stomatitis virus/SARS-CoV-2 chimeras, we show that multiple neutralizing epitopes, within and outside the receptor binding domain (RBD), are variably targeted by human polyclonal antibodies. Antibody targets coincide with spike sequences that are enriched for diversity in natural SARS-CoV-2 populations. By combining plasma-selected spike substitutions, we generated synthetic ‘polymutant’ spike protein pseudotypes that resisted polyclonal antibody neutralization to a similar degree as circulating variants of concern (VOC). By aggregating VOC-associated and antibody-selected spike substitutions into a single polymutant spike protein, we show that 20 naturally occurring mutations in SARS-CoV-2 spike are sufficient to generate pseudotypes with near-complete resistance to the polyclonal neutralizing antibodies generated by convalescents or mRNA vaccine recipients. Strikingly, however, plasma from individuals who had been infected and subsequently received mRNA vaccination, neutralized pseudotypes bearing this highly resistant SARS-CoV-2 polymutant spike, or diverse sarbecovirus spike proteins. Thus, optimally elicited human polyclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 should be resilient to substantial future SARS-CoV-2 variation and may confer protection against potential future sarbecovirus pandemics.

A genetic chimerism or chimera (/kaɪˈmɪərə/ ky-MEER-ə or /kɪˈmɪərə/ kə-MEER-ə, is a single organism composed of cells with more than one distinct genotype. In animals, this means an individual derived from two or more zygotes, which can include possessing blood cells of different blood types, subtle variations in form (phenotype) and, if the zygotes were of differing sexes, then even the possession of both female and male sex organs (this is just one of many different phenomena that may result in intersexuality). Animal chimeras are produced by the merger of multiple fertilized eggs. In plant chimeras, however, the distinct types of tissue may originate from the same zygote, and the difference is often due to mutation during ordinary cell division. Normally, genetic chimerism is not visible on casual inspection; however, it has been detected in the course of proving parentage.

Chimera Genetics

Chimera, in genetics, an organism or tissue that contains at least two different sets of DNA, most often originating from the fusion of as many different zygotes (fertilized eggs). The term is derived from the Chimera of Greek mythology, a fire-breathing monster that was part lion, part goat, and part dragon. Chimeras are distinguished from mosaics, organisms that contain genetically different populations of cells originating from a single zygote, and from hybrids, organisms containing genetically identical populations of cells originating from a cross of two different species. Included among the different known types of animal chimeras are dispermic and twin

Amid UN Climate Summit, Religious Leaders Unveil New Ten Commandments

thenewamerican.com/amid-un-climate-summit-religious-leaders-unveil-new-ten-commandments/

Climate activist Yosef Abramowitz holding new green Ten Commandments

SINAI, EGYPT — Leaders of various religions and religious organizations gathered to repent of their alleged “climate” sins and usher in what they described as a new, universal “Ten Commandments.” Gathered in Sharm El Sheikh and cities around the world amid the United Nations COP27 Climate Change Summit in Egypt, representatives of major Christian and Islamic denominations joined forces with all manner of pagans and heathens to unveil what they hope will be the new and improved moral code of the future.

After worldwide criticism, the new Ten Commandments were re-framed as “Ten Principles of Climate Repentance.” Critics still ridiculed the movement, joking that these religious leaders were hitching their wagons to what many scientists and experts have referred to as the discredited climate “religion” or even “cult.” But the events and the move toward a united global religious movement organized around “Mother Earth” are no laughing matter.

The bizarre ceremonies, organized by the “Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development” (ICSD), were originally scheduled to take place at Mount Sinai on Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, near the Red Sea resort town of Sharm El Sheikh as the UN climate summit takes place nearby. While some of the religious antics took place on the Sinai Peninsula, many of the festivities were held in London and Jerusalem after security concerns reportedly led Egyptian authorities to withhold permission for the original plan.

A key organizer of the global call for climate “repentance,” Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew — dubbed the “Green Patriarch” — issued a public statement denouncing the “abuse of nature and the exploitation of its resources” as a “sin against God … and the gift of creation.” In a press release about the effort, organizers said they hoped it “will inspire the people to act modestly and carry out actions for climate justice.”

The new ten commandments were listed as:

  • We are stewards of this world
  • Creation manifests divinity
  • Everything in life is interconnected
  • Do no harm
  • Look after tomorrow
  • Rise above ego for our world
  • Change our inner climate
  • Repent and return
  • Every action matters
  • Use mind, open heart

Another one of the ringleaders of the events, Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development boss Rabbi Yonatan Neril, rejected the idea that “religion” and “ecology” are separate and distinct from each other. “Many people fear that humans have irrevocably destroyed the ecology of ‘Eden’ on earth,” Rabbi Neril was quoted as saying in media reports, totally misrepresenting the Hebrew Scriptures found in Genesis. “But God created the world out of love for life on earth.”

Religious figures and people from around the world gather at COP 27 to call for climate action (Photographer Josef Abramowitz) (PRNewsfoto/The Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and Josef Abramowitz)

Neril also clamed humanity needed a drastic reset of the systems of life and civilization. “We need to change the operating system that humanity generated and is degrading God’s creation,” he claimed. “We need to switch from greed, short-term thinking, and individualistic behavior to spiritual satisfaction, long-term thinking, and altruism. And by doing that we will address the symptoms of the problem and manifest a new earth.”

“Leveraging” so-called faith communities to “move the needle on climate advocacy is a deeply needed and worthwhile effort,” the controversial rabbi said. “While the national political culture is so divided, faith is this common ground that can soften the boundaries and open hearts and minds.” In other words, it is not enough for business and government to join the climate movement — religions and their adherents must join the crusade against CO2 and all that it represents as well.

Miami Man Indicted for Laundering Millions in Health Care Fraud Proceeds

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Miami Man Indicted for Laundering Millions in Health Care Fraud Proceeds

MIAMI – A federal magistrate judge has unsealed an indictment charging Miami resident Julio Arsenio Rodriguez, 61, with running a money laundering operation involving millions of Medicare and Medicaid health care fraud proceeds.

These proceeds stemmed from multiple clinics located throughout South Florida that allegedly provided durable medical equipment (DME) to eligible Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Instead, the DME was never requested, needed, or supplied. These clinics received millions from Medicare and Medicaid and Rodriguez used his companies to launder those proceeds.

The indictment charges Rodriguez with one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering and 14 counts of money laundering.

The conspiracy to commit money laundering and the act of money laundering are punishable by a penalty of 10-20 years in prison for each count. A federal district judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

An indictment is a charging instrument containing allegations. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Juan Antonio Gonzalez, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida; Special Agent in Charge Omar Pérez Aybar, Health and Human Services–Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG), Miami Region; acting Special Agent in Charge Robert M. DeWitt, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Miami Field Office, and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced the charges.

HHS-OIG, Miami Region, FBI, Miami Field Office, and the Florida Office of the Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigated the case. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Marc Canzio is prosecuting the case and Assistant U.S. Attorney Marx Calderon is handling asset forfeiture.

What is ESG?

What is ESG?

Environmental, social, and governance policies are the Left’s latest political tool to use businesses and financial institutions to advance progressive ideology in American society.

Who does ESG hurt?

Everyone…

Customers, employees, employers, and investors.

Under ESG, traditional American energy like oil and gas is punished and the Left’s “woke” cultural agenda is implemented from the boardroom down to the factory floor.

This agenda is being pushed by green activists, woke culture warriors, global elites, and the big businesses they control.

What is ESG?

ESG is short for environmental, social, governance—and the term ESG can be applied in several ways:

  • Advocates on the Left commonly describe ESG as criteria for making strategic investment decisions to aid environmental or social causes one cares about
  • Financial firms now promote ESG-driven investment strategies, where they grade companies based on their ESG policies and make investment decisions based on how high a company’s ESG score is.
  • Federal and state governments have begun passing laws and regulations mandating ESG reporting from companies.

ESG is a political tool used by progressives to advance Leftist ideology in businesses and financial institutions. From requiring NASDAQ-listed companies to appoint board members based on race and sex, to requiring greenhouse gas emissions to be reported, ESG is destroying our free market and threatens both American interests and our cultural fabric of freedom, choice and liberty.

ESG policies are a thinly veiled attempt to radically transform corporations into social justice warriors. Pro-ESG businesses support the Left’s “woke” culture war to redefine gender, promote critical race theory, and cancel conservatives.

Traditionally, it’s been the role of business to create a meaningful return for investors. In the process of generating profits, they create jobs, develop innovative new products, and provide needed services.

But companies that adopt ESG policies risk failing Americans who have invested their savings in the company and hurting Americans by moving our society into dangerous dependence on foreign oil, creating social credit scores, and demanding investment decisions based on pro-abortion policies

Who does ESG hurt?

Everyone suffers – customers, employees, employers, and investors.

Under ESG, traditional American energy like oil and gas is punished as part of the Left’s climate alarmism. Customers pay higher prices and receive inferior goods and services as companies become more focused on “social justice” than meeting the customer’s needs.

Employees are subjected to critical race theory trainings and deal with “woke” gender-identity theory from the boardroom down to the factory floor. This woke culture spreads, creating divisive schools and an unhealthy society for our children.

Employers who aren’t supportive of ESG receive low ESG credit scores, which will be used by the Left to justify boycotts. Over time, these social credit scores could lead to businesses being financially cut off—losing access to loans, banking services, or even stock exchanges.

As businesses suffer and underperform, investors will lose out on profits and gains. This affects every American saving for retirement with stocks in a 401k or pension. Millions of state employees and individuals in the private sector will be negatively impacted.

ESG hurts everyone.

Big Pharma & Your Health: Alzheimer’s Disease and Coconut Oil

26 Coconut Oil Hacks You Need to Know About

Coconut is the ultimate superfood! Containing healthy fat and tasting delicious, it has become quite popular, especially among the health-minded and biohacking communities. The paleo community is swearing by it.

If you are not familiar with coconut oil, it is worth trying it out. Most people fall in love with it.

Read: Treating Alzheimer’s Disease and Coconut Oil (see below)

Another Phase 3 Trial Failure to Develop an Alzheimer’s Drug Shows Why Virgin Coconut Oil is Needed to Prevent Dementia

Source: https://coconutoil.com/another-phase-3-trial-failure-to-develop-an-alzheimers-drug-shows-why-virgin-coconut-oil-is-needed-to-prevent-dementia/

After more than a decade of failed drug trials and $billions lost in research to try and bring an Alzheimer’s drug to market, maybe the pharmaceutical industry is finally ready to admit that they don’t really understand what causes Alzheimer’s disease.

It was announced earlier this week that Roche had failed for the second time to develop a successful Alzheimer’s drug.

Roche’s ‘high risk’ failure has industry circling the wagons on future of Alzheimer’s research

Another failure of an amyloid medicine for Alzheimer’s disease has companies, analysts and patient advocacy groups circling the wagons to once again defend the theory and the future of research into the devastating neurological disorder.

The theory that reducing or preventing amyloid plaques in the brain can slow cognitive decline has time and time again failed in the clinic…

Roche has added a second failure in Alzheimer’s to its tab this year, this time for gantenerumab, which did not improve the rate of cognitive and functional decline in two phase 3 clinical trials from the Graduate program. This follows the June disclosure that crenezumab had failed in a study of pre-symptomatic Alzheimer’s patients.

Roche CEO Severin Schwan called gantenerumab “a high-risk project” when reporting second-quarter earnings in July, and suggested that the company “plan for a situation where it doesn’t come through.”

GlobalData Senior Neurology Analyst Pippa Salter called the gantenerumab failure surprising, particularly that the med also did not seem to clear amyloid plaques as much as expected. She doesn’t see a path forward for the therapy.

“Its failure will be a significant blow to Roche, which had gambled on continued development of the product despite a previous phase 3 failure in 2014,” Salter said in a Tuesday note. (Full article.)

I have been reporting on the failure of Big Pharma to produce an Alzheimer’s drug for over a decade now, along with publishing numerous testimonies of how many people have reversed the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia by using Virgin Coconut Oil in their diet, especially if it is part of an overall ketogenic diet which emphasizes healthy high fats, moderate levels of protein, and small amounts of carbohydrates.

Are Pharmaceutical Drugs One of the Causes of Alzheimer’s Disease?

In 2011, Dr. Stephanie Seneff published research looking at the effects of a low-fat diet and statin drugs in relation to Alzheimer’s Disease. This research noticed a strong correlation between insulin resistance in the brain and early Alzheimer’s Disease, suggesting that Alzheimer’s might be considered a neuroendocrine disorder of the brain or so-called “type 3 diabetes”.

But the study’s main conclusions regarding the early causes of Alzheimer’s Disease centered around the transport of cholesterol from the blood stream to the brain. The research stated that there is mounting evidence which suggests that a defect in cholesterol metabolism in the brain may play an important role in Alzheimer’s Disease.

Summary of the Brain’s Dependency on Cholesterol:

The brain represents only 2% of the body’s total mass, but contains 25% of the total cholesterol. Cholesterol is required everywhere in the brain as an antioxidant, an electrical insulator (in order to prevent ion leakage), as a structural scaffold for the neural network, and a functional component of all membranes.

Cholesterol is also utilized in the wrapping and synaptic delivery of the neurotransmitters.

It also plays an important role in the formation and functioning of synapses in the brain. (Study here.)

They point to several studies that show that there is a lack of cholesterol in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients which is so vital for several functions, and also note that other studies show this cholesterol deficiency in dementia and Parkinson’s disease as well.

In contrast, high cholesterol levels are positively correlated with longevity in people over 85 years old, and in some cases has been shown to be associated with better memory function and reduced dementia.

In 2012, another study looked at the effects of statin cholesterol-lowering drugs on Alzheimer’s patients. The patients in the study had their statin medication stopped for six weeks, and then restarted.

The results showed that during the six weeks when their statins were stopped, the basic brain function of the individuals improved. When the drugs were restarted, brain function got worse again. (Study here.)

So if statin cholesterol-lowering drugs are part of the problem in causing Alzheimer’s Disease, can we really expect that pharmaceutical companies will be able to develop drugs to cure Alzheimer’s?

Coconut Oil is More Successful than Drugs in Treating Alzheimer’s Disease

If pharmaceutical drugs are one of the primary problems quitting them and doing nothing is probably better than taking the failed drugs. After all, it is a fact that Alzheimer’s drugs have been a huge failure.

The statement that coconut oil is more successful than drugs in treating Alzheimer’s Disease is unimpressive in some capacity, however, the anecdotal evidence is remarkable. The success in stopping pharmaceutical drugs used by some Alzheimer’s patients using coconut oil is so conspicuously unusual, that it is worthy of notice or attention and foolish to discount what this simple dietary oil can do.

People all across America, and around the world, are not wanting to wait for the results of research trials. Many people with Alzheimer’s Disease are using coconut oil and seeing a huge improvement. In some cases a full reversal of the disease after starting with coconut oil.

Here is a partial list of testimonials that we have published here at Health Impact News:

Why Does Coconut Oil Work in Treating Alzheimer’s?

NOTE: The first thing we should make clear is that not everyone who tries coconut oil with dementia or Alzheimer’s sees the same results as reported in these testimonials.

Coconut oil does seem to be more effective in those who do not have advanced stages of Alzheimer’s and are still in the earlier stages, although we have seen a few testimonials for late-stage Alzheimer’s as well (See: Woman with End-stage Alzheimer’s Sees Improvement in One Week after Starting Coconut Oil)

However, if we look at Alzheimer’s Disease as a “type 3” diabetes and an insulin resistance problem, coconut oil makes a lot of sense, as does a ketogenic high-fat diet. Coconut oil is known as a rich source of ketone energy, supplying an alternate form of energy to the brain. In fact, pharmaceutical companies are currently trying to develop drugs that mimic the same “ketonic” effect that can be achieved via a high-fat diet.

(See: Study: Coconut Oil Could Prevent Neurodegeneration in Diseases like Alzheimer’s)

To learn more about the ketogenic diet, insulin resistance, coconut oil, and treating Alzheimer’s disease, watch this very informative round table discussion with 5 medical doctors, science author Gary Taubes, and nutritionist Robb Wolf:

The doctors in the video are:

Dr. James Greenwald, Medical Director of Specialty Health. Dr. James Greenwald is board certified in orthopedic surgery and has over 30 years of experience in the orthopedic field. Early in his career, he specialized in knee, shoulder, ankle, and trauma injuries. He has served as the team physician for the University of Nevada football and baseball teams for many years.

Dr. Gary Anderson, vascular health, board certified, and a member of the American Board of Lipidology. He has worked as a physician in nursing homes for over 35 years. In this video he discusses the problem of “polypharmacy,” the problem of too many drugs being used in nursing homes, as a cause of dementia.

Dr. Peter Attia, is a former McKinsey & Company consultant, surgeon, engineer, calculus teacher and an author of numerous medical and research papers.

Dr. Tara Dall, member of the American Board of Lipidology.

Dr. Malcolm D. Bacchus, a board certified neurologist.

Also appearing:

Gary Taubes, science journalist and author of best-selling books “Good Calories, Bad Calories” and “Why We Get Fat.”

Robb Wolf, author of the best-selling book “The Paleo Solution.”

Also, if the brain is being starved of cholesterol, coconut oil might provide benefits by increasing HDL cholesterol levels. A study appearing in the American Journal of Cardiology in February 2011 showed that the higher men’s HDL cholesterol levels, the longer they lived and the more likely it was that they would reach the age of 85. (Study abstract.)

The high-fat low-carb ketogenic diet has been around since the 1920s, when it was developed at Johns Hopkins. But it fell out of favor with doctors after the USDA dietary guidelines started condemning saturated fats and cholesterol.

However, the research linking saturated fats and cholesterol to heart disease has never been based on solid data. Recent research has completely exonerated saturated fat from being associated with heart disease. A 2010 meta-study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition looked at almost 350,000 people over a 23-year period and found no association between saturated fat and heart disease. (Study abstract.)

A similar meta-study was conducted and published in May of 2013, analyzing the existing medical literature regarding dietary fats and heart disease in the journal Advances in Nutrition. (See: Study: Saturated Fat Not Associated with Risk of Coronary Artery Disease, Coconut Oil and Dairy Fat Healthy)

So if we remove our bias against cholesterol and saturated fat, we begin to see why the ketogenic diet has been so effective for so many neurological disorders over the years. It was originally developed as a dietary cure for children with epilepsy, and worked when drugs did not. (See: Ketogenic Diet Can be used to Control Seizures) Dr. Eugene Arnold of the Ohio State University Medical Center has also studied how a lack of cholesterol can be a contributing factor to autism. (See Adding Cholesterol to Diet Reduces Autism Symptoms)

Diet and Prevention is the Best Strategy to Avoid or Reverse Alzheimer’s Disease

There is strong evidence that one of the main contributing factors for Alzheimer’s Disease is a diet too low in fats and excessive pharmaceutical drugs. The low-fat dietary advice, and the demonization of cholesterol, has led to poor health and the development of worthless and harmful statin drugs. The data and evidence on the health benefits of coconut oil and the ketogenic diet are overwhelming today, not only for Alzheimer’s Disease, but for a whole host of other diseases as well.
