Moderna Won’t Raise Price on COVID Vaccine After Pressure
New York Daily News reported:Moderna said Wednesday it wouldn’t raise the price of its COVID-19 vaccine after a public outcry.
The about-face comes after the company was harshly criticized for planning to raise the cost of a vaccine dose about 400% — to the $110-to-$130 range. The company said the decision was made because they were shifting away from government contracts despite the vaccine’s development being publicly subsidized. The government pays about $26 per dose.
Instead it will remain free — even for the uninsured — after federal funding for vaccines starts to deplete when the public health emergency ends in May.
The announcement came after leftwing Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders called on Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel to testify about the price hike and the pharmaceutical industry in general during a Senate hearing scheduled for next month.
WHO Says It Won’t Abandon COVID Origin Pursuit
U.S. News & World Report reported:The World Health Organization on Wednesday pledged to continue its pursuit of the origin of COVID-19 amid a report that it abandoned part of its investigation, but the group acknowledged that it needs more cooperation from China.
The report from Nature said that WHO “quietly shelved the second phase of its much-anticipated scientific investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, citing ongoing challenges over attempts to conduct crucial studies in China.”
Maria Van Kerkhove of WHO said during a press briefing on Wednesday, “I think we need to be perfectly clear that WHO has not abandoned studying the origins of COVID-19. We have not, and we will not.” She said that there “was no quiet shelving of any plans,” adding that plans were “updated” instead.
“Initially, phase two was a plan to be a continuation of that January 2021 mission to Wuhan, which was in a sense seen as phase one, but we updated our plans,” Van Kerkhove said, referring to the city in China where the virus was first reported. She said that “in a sense” phase two became the permanent establishment of the Scientific Advisory Group for the Origins of Novel Pathogens, which she said “was, in effect, our best effort to move this work forward.”
U.S. Backs Moderna, Says Government Should Face COVID Vaccine Lawsuit
Reuters reported:The U.S. government should face a patent lawsuit over COVID-19 vaccines, not vaccine maker Moderna Inc. (MRNA.O), the Department of Justice told a Delaware federal court on Tuesday.
The Justice Department’s court filing said the United States should be liable for any infringement of Arbutus Biopharma Corp. (ABUS.O) and Genevant Sciences GmbH’s patents that took place under Moderna’s contract to provide shots for the government’s nationwide vaccination effort. Moderna made the same argument last year in an unsuccessful bid to win an early dismissal of the lawsuit.
Warminster Township, Pennsylvania-based Arbutus and Genevant — a joint venture between Arbutus and Roivant Sciences Ltd (ROIV.O) — sued Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Moderna last year for royalties on its multi-billion-dollar COVID vaccines.
Both Moderna and Pfizer Inc. (PFE.N) have been the target of multiple patent lawsuits over their COVID vaccines, including a lawsuit brought by Moderna against Pfizer in August.
U.S. NIH Starts Trial for Shionogi’s COVID Pill
Reuters reported:The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) said on Wednesday that it had started a clinical trial to evaluate Japan’s Shionogi & Co Ltd’s (4507.T) experimental oral antiviral drug to treat COVID-19.
The drug, S-217622 or ensitrelvir, will be tested in adult patients hospitalized with COVID-19. It is already approved for emergency use in Japan.
The trial will enroll about 1,500 people from different sites across the world, the government health organization said in a statement.
White House Mulls Post-COVID Emergency Backstop for Uninsured
Politico reported:The Biden administration is zeroing in on a plan to keep COVID vaccines, treatments and tests free for the uninsured into 2024, even as it plots a quicker wind-down of its broader pandemic response, four people with knowledge of the matter told POLITICO.
Biden officials expect the so-called commercialization process to start in the second half of this year. But under its tentative plan, the administration would stockpile a limited supply of shots, treatments and tests that could be distributed freely to the uninsured well after the U.S. transitions out of its current crisis era.
Biden health officials are preparing to unravel a sprawling set of pandemic policies over the next several months, as the administration ends the public health emergency on May 11 and moves toward managing the virus as a long-term disease.
New Bill Would Prohibit Federal Funding for Healthcare Facilities That Deny Care to Unvaccinated Patients
The Epoch Times reported:A new bill in Congress would ban federal funding for institutions that deny care to patients for not having a COVID-19 vaccine, after multiple patients in the United States seeking transplants have been rejected over their vaccination status.
The 2-page bill states that “no funds authorized or appropriated by Federal law, and none of the funds in any trust fund to which funds are authorized or appropriated by Federal law … shall be made available to a facility that refuses to provide treatment to an individual based on the COVID-19 vaccination status of such individual.” The legislation is called the COVID-19 Vaccination Non-Discrimination Act.
“No American should be denied access to critical care based on a personal medical decision, yet tragically, many hospitals and other medical facilities continue to discriminate against those unvaccinated for COVID-19,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a doctor who cosponsored the legislation, said in a statement.
Multiple patients in the United States have been denied transplants during the pandemic because of their refusal to get a COVID-19 vaccine. James Jooyandeh, a U.S. Army veteran, was denied a lung transplant because he declined to get vaccinated. Other patients have been removed from waiting lists due to their vaccination status.
The Haunting Brain Science of Long COVID

Science validates their injuries. A picture is emerging from animal models showing how ongoing inflammation of glial cells disrupts the electrical conduction highways in the brain’s white matter that link to and support the neurons in gray matter. It’s as if the bridges (white matter) linking different territories of the brain have been blown up and the land itself (nerves in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus) become scorched, leaving people with long COVID plagued by thinking and memory deficits.
An MRI study from George Washington University of people who’d had mild COVID-19 symptoms several months earlier found much less gray matter in their brains than they should have had. This ominous finding complements a large controlled study conducted as part of the U.K. Biobank showing that, as compared to people who had never tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, a loss of actual brain tissue was seen in the olfactory cortex and limbic system — think impaired smell, emotions and memory formation — among people with long COVID.
Governments Target Medical Debt With COVID Relief Funds
Associated Press reported:Millions of Americans mired in medical debt face difficult financial decisions every day — pay the debt or pay for rent, utilities and groceries. Some may even skip necessary healthcare for fear of sinking deeper into debt.
To address the problem, an increasing number of municipal, county and state governments are devising plans to spend federal coronavirus pandemic relief funds to eliminate residents’ medical debt and ease those debt burdens.
Unlike credit card or loan debt, medical debt is not a choice, advocates said. “Medical debt is something that people can’t help and it’s not their fault,” Burnley said. “No one chooses to get hurt or to get sick.”
The cities and states are teaming up with RIP Medical Debt, a New York-based nonprofit that since 2014 has used donations to buy huge bundles of debt from hospitals and other healthcare providers at pennies on the dollar and pay it off. A single donated dollar erases an average of $100 of debt.
European Medicines Agency Expects Annual COVID Vaccination Campaigns, Similar to Flu Shot
Fox News reported:The European Medicines Agency expects COVID vaccination campaigns to be conducted once a year, similar to the approach with flu inoculation, it said on Wednesday.
In Europe, there is a marked decline in new COVID cases, hospitalisations and deaths — the lowest levels observed in the European Union in the past twelve months, he said, citing data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
The EMA is currently in discussions with the World Health Organization and other regulatory agencies about the criteria and process that will lead to the potential update of the vaccines in view of future vaccination campaigns, he added.
My Initial Impressions of a New COVID Treatment: Pegylated Interferon Lambda — a Major Study Offered Encouraging Results, but Some Barriers to Treatment Exist
MedPage Today reported:Earlier this week, a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that patients who received one injection of pegylated interferon lambda did better than those who received placebo. Interferons like this one work by helping cells keep viruses from invading and taking up shop.
The new study compared outcomes in mostly vaccinated participants across several periods, including Omicron. Interferon recipients had lower rates of the study’s “primary outcome” of interest; Participants were deemed as having experienced the primary outcome if either a COVID-related hospitalization or an emergency department (ED) stay longer than 6 hours occurred.
The skeptic in me notes that a few findings were less impressive than the headline. For example, when researchers measured all-cause death or COVID-related hospitalization (factoring out longer ED stays), about half of that signal of benefit vanished (i.e., there was a 25% reduction in those outcomes as opposed to a 51% reduction in the primary outcome).
As the New York Times reported, the FDA is unlikely to authorize this drug for use in the U.S. The reasons for this are actually kind of silly. First, the study was done in Brazil and Canada — and the FDA likes U.S. data. It seems to me that in a pandemic, science is science, regardless of its locale. What matters is the quality of the endeavor, not the country code where it took place.

Children’s Health Defense today filed a federal lawsuit against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to obtain documents related to the agency’s safety monitoring of COVID-19 vaccines through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System database.By
Brenda Baletti, Ph.D.Children’s Health Defense (CHD) today filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to obtain documents related to the agency’s safety monitoring of the COVID-19 vaccines through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) database.
The lawsuit alleges the CDC violated provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by failing to respond to CHD’s FOIA requests to provide key analysis of reports in the vaccine safety database and intra- and inter-agency communications about those reports.
CHD submitted the FOIA requests in the summer of 2022.
The agency said the requested information would be forthcoming by December of last year, but the documents were never delivered.
CHD is asking the court to compel the release of the requested documents in compliance with the FOIA.
Mary Holland, CHD president and general counsel, explained the significance of the lawsuit to The Defender:
“The CDC continues to ask the American public to believe that COVID shots are safe, without providing the evidence. Our lawsuit demands that the CDC give us hard data to back up its claim. No one should take vaccine safety on faith.”
CDC analysis of VAERS data
The CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) jointly administer VAERS, a database that allows healthcare professionals and others to file reports about vaccine-related injuries.
While VAERS reports of adverse events don’t prove causality, the CDC considers VAERS to be a key “early warning system” for detecting unusual or unexpected patterns of adverse event reporting that can signal safety problems with a vaccine.
According to the co-sponsored VAERS “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOP) for COVID-19, dated Jan. 29, 2021, the CDC and the FDA would coordinate monitoring for “potential new safety concerns for COVID-19 vaccines” by performing routine VAERS surveillance.
Each agency would use a different standard approach to data mining to screen for potential safety signals.
The CDC would run proportional reporting ratio (PRR) data mining on a weekly basis, or as needed. PRR would compare the reports of specific adverse events suffered after receiving a Moderna or Pfizer mRNA vaccine to reports made after receiving any other vaccine to see if there is an indication that the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines cause more adverse events than vaccines generally considered by the CDC to be safe.
The SOP stipulated that the FDA would conduct a bi-weekly thorough manual review of serious adverse events and through empirical Bayesian (EB) data mining, which uses a different statistical method to compare adverse events related to the COVID-19 vaccine with those related to non-COVID-19 vaccines in order to identify safety signals.
According to the CDC, if these forms of data mining raise a safety signal, then the agencies would do further analysis to confirm whether the adverse event was caused by the vaccine and that data would be shared with the public.
Both agencies failed to make data public.
Last month CHD filed a federal lawsuit against the FDA to obtain documents related to its empirical Bayesian data mining, The Defender Reported.
In today’s case, CHD made two requests.
The first request sought the records of all PRR conducted by the CDC related to COVID-19 from Oct. 1, 2021, to the present, along with all communications within the CDC and with the FDA about the PRR results and follow-up investigations required by the SOP done in connection with those results.
The second request sought the daily email alerts from VAERS contractors hired by the CDC listing identification numbers for all adverse events of special interest, which are events requiring further investigation.
CDC’s conflicting statements about its VAERS monitoring
Since last year, the CDC has issued a series of conflicting statements to The Epoch Times and CHD regarding their ongoing monitoring of the VAERS database.
In June 2022, the CDC told CHD that “no PRRs were conducted by the CDC” and that data mining was outside of the agency’s purview.
This was despite the fact that the SOP document dated Jan. 29, 2021, stipulated the CDC and FDA would begin ongoing data mining analysis then.
Next, in July 2021, the CDC told The Epoch Times that it had in fact been performing PRRs since January 2021 and was continuing to do so.
Two months later, the CDC changed its story again. This time it told The Epoch Times that it performed PRR analysis for a four-month period, from March 25, 2022, to July 31, 2022.
March 25, 2022, was three days after CHD emailed the CDC reminding them of their pending FOIA requesting the PRR analysis.
At that time, the CDC also said that its PRR results were “generally consistent” with the empirical Bayesian mining the SOP indicated would be done by the FDA and that it had not revealed any unexpected safety signals.
“Given it is a more robust data mining technique, CDC will continue relying upon EB data mining at this time,” the CDC spokesperson told The Epoch Times.
In January 2023, The Epoch Times reported that the CDC provided it with some of the PRR analysis it conducted between March and July 2022. The CDC shared an overall PRR analysis of all events reported from Dec. 14, 2020, to July 29, 2022.
But, it only shared its weekly analysis from three weeks — the weeks of July 15, 22, and 29, 2022. It is unclear whether the CDC did analysis during other weeks, or whether it never did the ongoing analysis mandated by the SOP.
That analysis revealed hundreds of safety signals, including signals for serious conditions such as blood clotting in the lungs, intermenstrual bleeding, lack of oxygen to the heart and even death.
The CDC admitted it gave false information about COVID-19 vaccine surveillance, including inaccurately saying it had conducted a certain type of analysis more than a year before it actually did.
Yet, given its conflicting statements, what surveillance analysis the CDC actually did, and when it did it, remains unclear. Access to this information would reveal when the CDC knew about safety signals related to the COVID-19 vaccine.
CHD’s FOIA request seeks all of these documents in order to clarify this timeline.
CDC anticipated spike in VAERS reports with COVID vaccine
Despite the fact that health officials and scientific journals have downplayed or dismissed the importance of VAERS during the pandemic, the CDC states in the SOP that it is a key “front-line system to monitor the safety of vaccines licensed for use in the United States.”
Information revealed through FOIA requests demonstrates that the CDC was anticipating a spike in VAERS reporting when the new vaccines were released and spent millions of dollars hiring contractors to process the data. Communication with these contractors is part of CHD’s FOIA lawsuit.
A FOIA request revealed, in late August 2020, that the CDC contracted with General Dynamics to handle VAERS reports for COVID-19 vaccines. The contract anticipated up to 1,000 reports per day, with up to 40% of them serious in nature, Josh Guetzkow reported. The value of the year-long contract was $9.45 million.
“This means that months before the EUA [emergency use authorization] of any COVID vaccines, the CDC anticipated up to a 600% increase over the average annual number of VAERS reports in recent years with 8 times the rate of serious reports,” Guetzkow said in his report.
In March 2021 the contract was amended to process backlogged reports filed through Feb. 28 for an additional $21.5 million. The CDC also contracted Eagle Health Analytics to assist with the processing for an additional $6 million.
Although other financial information about the dollar amounts associated with the contracts was redacted, Guetzkow estimated that the CDC paid contractors at least $40 million over two years to process VAERS data.
Every Friday, VAERS publishes vaccine injury reports received as of a specified date. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed. Historically, VAERS has been shown to report only 1% of actual vaccine adverse events.
As of Feb. 3, 2023, a total of 1,517,779 reports of adverse events following COVID-19 vaccines were submitted between Dec. 14, 2020, and Feb. 3, 2023, to VAERS.
The data included a total of 34,270 reports of deaths and 279,669 serious injuries, including deaths, during the same time period.
There were a total of 21,954 reports of adverse events following the new COVID-19 bivalent booster as of Oct. 21, 2022. The data included a total of 173 deaths and 1,458 serious injuries. As of Feb. 8, 52.5 million people have received the updated bivalent booster dose.
Of the 31,696 reported deaths, 21,479 cases are attributed to Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, 9,638 cases to Moderna’s, 2,944 cases to Johnson & Johnson’s (Janssen) and no cases yet reported for Novavax.

Billionaire Elon Musk and World Economic Forum (WEF) Chairman Klaus Schwab faced off this week, presenting competing visions for the future at this year’s World Government Summit (WGS).
Convened from Feb. 13-15 in Dubai under the slogan “Shaping Future Governments,” the WGS brought together prominent figures in politics, business and global governance in a format akin to that of the recent WEF annual meeting.
The WGS bills itself as “a global knowledge exchange platform dedicated to shaping the future of government worldwide.”
Participants comprised over 300 speakers and 10,000 attendees, including 250 government ministers and representatives from 80 international, regional and governmental organizations, including the U.N., WEF, World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Musk, Schwab and other leaders debated conflicting hopes and concerns for the future. The WGS itself also predicted what the world will look like by 2071, released as part of the WGS’ “Government in 2071” initiative.
These projections foresee a dystopian future of catastrophic climate change, mass migration, mass layoffs due to automation, ensuing social unrest and the merging of humans and technology as the “best-case scenario” for 2071.
Musk: AI, one-world government pose threats to humanity
Musk addressed the ongoing rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and the dangers of a one-world government, speaking by video to the WGS on Wednesday.
“One of the biggest risks to the future of civilization is AI,” Musk told WGS attendees. “But AI is both positive or negative — it has great promise, great capability but also, with that comes great danger.”
He commented on ChatGPT, the increasingly popular AI tool developed by OpenAI. Musk co-founded OpenAI with former PayPal partner Peter Thiel, but has since left its board of directors, the New York Post reported.
“ChatGPT, I think, has illustrated to people just how advanced AI has become. AI has been advanced for a while; it just didn’t have a user interface that was accessible to most people,” said Musk.
“What ChatGPT has done is just put an accessible user interface on AI technology that has been present for a few years,” he added.
Musk called upon governments to develop safety regulations for AI, comparing its rise to the development of nuclear technology.
“You look at, say, the discovery of nuclear physics. You had nuclear power generation but also nuclear bombs,” said Musk, adding:
“I think we need to regulate AI safety, frankly. Think of any technology which is potentially a risk to people, like if it’s aircraft or cars or medicine, we have regulatory bodies that oversee the public safety of cars and planes and medicine.
“I think we should have a similar set of regulatory oversight for artificial intelligence, because I think it is actually a bigger risk to society.”
This is not the first time Musk has made such remarks about AI. In March 2022, Musk said that “artificial intelligence going wrong” is one of the three biggest threats facing humanity, along with falling birth rates and the rise of “religious extremism.”
Others have expressed concerns about AI “going wrong” — alleging that bias is baked into the technology. The New York Post reported, for instance, that ChatGPT refused to write an article about Hunter Biden in the newspaper’s critical style, but it was willing to write the article from the perspective of CNN.
Business Insider argues that AI tools like ChatGPT must be “woke” in order to attract major investors.
Major investments are pouring into such AI technologies. Microsoft announced last month it is investing $10 billion in OpenAI, while Google is working on a competitor to ChatGPT known as “Bard.”
Musk, in his talk to WGS delegates, also addressed what he sees as the dangers of one-world government.
“I know this is called the World Government Summit, but I think we should be maybe a little bit concerned about actually becoming too much of a single world government,” he said. “We want to avoid creating a civilizational risk by having, frankly — this may sound a little odd — too much cooperation between governments.”
Instead, Musk called for the maintenance of “civilizational diversity.” He said:
“I think we want to be a little bit cautious about being too much of a single civilization, because if we are too much of a single civilization, then the whole thing may collapse.
“Obviously not suggesting war or anything like that, but I think we want to be a little bit wary of actually cooperating too much. It sounds a little odd, but we want to have some amount of civilizational diversity, such that if something does go wrong with some part of civilization, that the whole thing doesn’t collapse and humanity keeps moving forward.”
Musk also had some advice for political leaders and other prominent figures: speak in your own voice.
“I think people should speak in their own voice,” he said. “I would encourage CEOs, legislators, to speak authentically. Do the tweets yourself and convey your message directly.”
Musk tweeted that he chose to make these remarks at the WGS because it “seemed like the right venue.”
He also hinted at his plans for Twitter, indicating he expects to find a CEO to succeed him “probably toward the end of this year.”
“I think I need to stabilize the organization and just make sure it’s in a financially healthy place,” he said. “I’m guessing probably toward the end of this year would be good timing to find someone else to run the company.”
Schwab: Technology can help the elite ‘be the master of the world’
Perhaps confirming Musk’s fears, in his keynote speech to the WGS, Schwab said mastering technologies such as AI can help global elite “be the master of the world.”
“We are at the beginning,” he said. “When you look at technology transformation, it usually takes place in the terms of an S-curve. And we are just now where we move into the exponential phase.”
This phase, Schwab said, “requires us to strengthen cooperation and enhance coordination at the level of governments, countries and institutions to maintain the frameworks of international cooperation, which in turn is reflected in the paths of development comprehensively.”
Schwab referred to the recently concluded WEF annual meeting to contextualize his remarks, stating, “we discussed our ability to adapt to these global challenges, in light of various crises that require new mechanisms and innovative methods to help us reach a better future and serve the aspirations of humanity.”
Schwab said the coming decades will witness major “structural transformations” related to climate change. He argued for achieving the Paris Climate Agreement goals and reaching “zero carbon emissions.”
New technologies, said Schwab, will continue to play a vital role in these transformations.
“A few years ago, we considered some technologies a science fiction that was difficult to implement,” said Schwab. “But today, it has become a reality that we live through artificial intelligence, new space technology, and industrial biology, which heralds a major change coming during the next 10 years, and requires governments to be ambitious in their decisions.”
Schwab heralded AI’s role in helping bring about the Fourth Industrial Revolution, saying:
“Artificial intelligence, but not only artificial intelligence, but also the metaverse, neospace technologies, and I could go on and on … synthetic biology. Our life in ten years from now will be completely different, very much affected. And who masters those technologies, in some way, will be the master of the world.”
Like Musk he expressed some concerns, but his “deep concern” was that new technologies such as AI might “escape” the control of the global elite.
“My deep concern is that [regarding] #4IR technologies, if we don’t work together on a global scale, if we do not formulate, shape together the necessary policies, they will escape our power to master those technologies,” he said.
These same elites must therefore “shape the necessary policies to make sure that those technologies serve humankind.”
That’s how, Schwab said, they can show the public, which will “feel overwhelmed by change” because it can’t “understand really what’s going on,” why “those technologies can serve for the good.”
The WEF is an enthusiastic proponent of technologies such as AI and the metaverse.
Schwab’s remarks at the WGS about how new technologies can help the global elite “be the master of the world” closely mirrored his statements at this year’s WEF meeting, where he opined what it means “to master the future.”
Tedros: COVID ‘will not be the last pandemic’
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also spoke at the WGS meeting, saying that COVID-19 “unfortunately … will not be the last pandemic or the major health emergency.”
He added:
“Other threats, such as climate change, will continue to increase in frequency and intensity.
“We owe it to those who we have lost and those who will come after us to learn the lessons and make the changes that should keep the world safer.”
U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres told attendees the world is “confronting a confluence of crises unlike any in our lifetimes.”
“Conflict is raging, poverty and hunger are rising, divisions are deepening, and the climate emergency keeps worsening,” he said. “We have a duty to act. We must forge a path towards greater cooperation, rooted in solidarity.”
To do so, he said:
“We must avoid short-term policymaking that delays taking on the big tests we face — and ultimately makes those challenges even more intractable. We must strengthen global governance and reinvigorate multilateralism for the 21st century. And we must act at the speed and scale that our fast-moving times demand.
“This applies to every challenge we face — from tackling the climate catastrophe and advancing sustainable development, to achieving peace and safeguarding human rights, including the rights of future generations. … Government action is critical, but not enough.”
“We need everyone — across the private sector, civil society, and beyond — to work together for the common good,” Guterres added. “This is our common agenda.”
And Arturo Bris of the IMD World Competitiveness Center, also speaking at the WGS, said that a “shock” is needed to spur the “transition” to a new “world order.”
Aside from speeches by key figures, the WGS meeting encompassed several forums, including “SDGs [Sustainable Development Goals] in Action,” “Future by Design Global Forum,” “Future of Work Forum,” “Future of Education Forum,” “Food System Transformation Forum” and “Gathering of the Greatest Minds.”
WGS proceedings were also accompanied by several reports that were published to complement this year’s meeting. PWC wrote one such report, suggesting that “policymakers and regulators will have to learn from non-traditional, non-government actors who have already built a foothold in the metaverse.”
Roberto Azevêdo, executive vice president and chief corporate affairs officer of PepsiCo and former director general of the World Trade Organization, wrote a report that stressed “the need for government and businesses to work as partners, while both must better engage the will of the people.”
“This partnership must seek structural changes that aim at long-term solutions, free from the logics of electoral cycles,” Azevêdo argued.

Born in North Carolina in 1983, Edward Snowden later worked for the National Security Agency through subcontractor Booz Allen in the organization’s Oahu office. During his time there, Snowden collected top-secret documents regarding NSA domestic surveillance practices that he found disturbing. After Snowden fled to Hong Kong, China and met with journalists from The Guardian and filmmaker Laura Poitras, newspapers began printing the documents that he had leaked, many of them detailing the monitoring of American citizens.
The U.S. charged Snowden with violations of the Espionage Act while many groups call him a hero. Snowden has found asylum in Russia and continues to speak about his work. Citzenfour, a documentary by Poitras about his story, won an Oscar in 2015. He is also the subject of Snowden, a 2016 biopic directed by Oliver Stone and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Edward Snowden was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on June 21, 1983. His mother works for the federal court in Baltimore (the family moved to Maryland during Snowden’s youth) as chief deputy clerk for administration and information technology. Snowden’s father, a former Coast Guard officer, later relocated to Pennsylvania and remarried.
Snowden eventually landed a job as a security guard at the University of Maryland’s Center for Advanced Study of Language. The institution had ties to the National Security Agency, and, by 2006, Snowden had taken an information-technology job at the Central Intelligence Agency.
In 2009, after being suspected of trying to break into classified files, he left to work for private contractors, among them Dell and Booz Allen Hamilton, a tech consulting firm. While at Dell, he worked as a subcontractor in an NSA office in Japan before being transferred to an office in Hawaii.
After a short time, he moved from Dell to Booz Allen, another NSA subcontractor, and remained with the company for only three months During his years of IT work, Snowden had noticed the far reach of the NSA’s everyday surveillance. While working for Booz Allen, Snowden began copying top-secret NSA documents, building a dossier on practices that he found invasive and disturbing. The documents contained vast information on the NSA’s domestic surveillance practices. After he had compiled a large store of documents, Snowden told his NSA supervisor that he needed a leave of absence for medical reasons, stating he had been diagnosed with epilepsy.
On May 20, 2013, Snowden took a flight to Hong Kong, China, where he remained as he orchestrated a clandestine meeting with journalists from the U.K. publication The Guardian as well as filmmaker Laura Poitras.
On June 5, The Guardian released secret documents obtained from Snowden. In these documents, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court implemented an order that required Verizon to release information to the NSA on an “ongoing, daily basis” culled from its American customers’ phone activities.
The following day, The Guardian and The Washington Post released Snowden’s leaked information on PRISM, an NSA program that allows real-time information collection electronically. A flood of information followed, and both domestic and international debate ensued. “I’m willing to sacrifice [my former life] because I can’t in good conscience allow the U.S. government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they’re secretly building,” Snowden said in interviews given from his Hong Kong hotel room. One of the people he left behind was his girlfriend Lindsay Mills. The pair had been living together in Hawaii, and she reportedly had no idea that he was about to disclose classified information to the public.

Background and Purpose
The purpose of this study is: first, to review disciplinary threats made to healthcare professionals by their governing bodies in the US; and second, to review medical literature for complications related to the COVID-19 vaccines and data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), particularly those related to pregnant women and women of reproductive age. The authors also aim to bring attention to the populace, healthcare workers, and healthcare administrators that illegal and unconstitutional gag orders have been placed on all healthcare workers in the US, and to alert everyone that no healthcare worker can be trusted since they are under a gag order which renders informed consent null and void. It is our intent to put governing bodies of healthcare workers on notice that they will be held accountable and lay legal groundwork for possible Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) violations, collusion, and fraud. These potential criminal acts, exposed in a court of law, can pierce legal immunity of Big Pharma and others, and pierce any perceived immunity given to hospitals and organizations via the CARES ACT.

Methods
Communications from the regulatory bodies for healthcare workers were reviewed. We reviewed the medical literature for complications related to the experimental gene therapy injections since rollout of the COVID-19 “vaccines”. We analyzed the VAERS data specifically to gauge overall deaths, menstrual abnormalities, fetal malformations in pregnancy, and pregnancy loss using in the https://MedAlerts.org/ platform.
Results
In a September 2021 Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation, the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG) threatened their 22,000+ constituents with disciplinary actions, including revocation of licensures and board certifications. In this statement, ABOG referenced the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), and the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). There are 1,013 peer-reviewed medical journal publications documenting morbidities and mortalities of the experimental COVID-19 nucleic acid therapy. VAERS data demonstrate a significant risk associated with this experimental gene therapy in women of reproductive age and pregnant women.
Conclusions
ABOG and other authoritative bodies regulating healthcare workers issued inappropriate gag orders on their constituents, thus preventing informed consent and destroying physician-patient relationships. Many reputable sources of data, medical literature and VAERS signal DANGER for the use of COVID-19 vaccines, especially during pregnancy and in women of reproductive age. ABOG must retract their inappropriate threats and recommend against the use of COVID-19 “vaccination” in pregnancy until long-term prospective trials are conducted.

Introduction
A recent publication in the British Medical Journal cast concern about the impropriety of the Pfizer data. The author, Paul D Thacker reviews a litany of breaches of expected experimental integrity [1]. Many mainstream medical journals and professional organizations receive financial support from pharmaceutical advertising and thus have financial incentives to collude with Big Pharma. Despite the global rollout of COVID-19 “vaccines”, the de-identified participant level data underlying the trials for these new products remain inaccessible to doctors, researchers, and the public [2]. Big Pharma is the least trusted industry [3] and at least three of the many companies making COVID-19 vaccines have past criminal and civil settlements costing them billions of dollars, with one pleading guilty to fraud [4]. The COVID-19 pandemic has made many new pharmaceutical billionaires and vaccine manufacturers report tens of billions in profit [5]. Doshi and Healy maintain that physicians should not recommend vaccines when full transparent data are not publicly available [6]. Appropriate testing was not completed prior to the roll out of the COVID-19 “vaccines” in women of reproductive age, nor was Big Pharma’s data made available to public scrutiny.
The term “cartel” frequently conjures images of illegal drug activities engaged in by groups seeking to fix and control markets. However, a “cartel” is any group of independent corporations and/or entities who band together to control the production, distribution, and pricing of a market or commonly shared commodity [7]. Despite significant signs of danger about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines, governing bodies of healthcare professionals have banded together in cartel- like fashion, issuing threats to destroy the livelihood of physicians and other health care providers for alleged dissemination of “misinformation” about COVID-19. A term of deception crafted by various cartel entities “misinformation” is used to label anything that would tend to create COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. In other words, “misinformation” is used to discredit alternative views and seeks to prevent honest and truthful communication with a patient about the experimental gene therapy’s known and very real dangers. This honest and truthful communication is necessary for a physician to provide informed consent.
Using the cartel example, these commonly shared commodities are the COVID-19 vaccines – which are not traditional, immunizing vaccines at all [8], but prophylactic treatments for COVID-19 which carry serious and significant risks. The cartel-like entities seek to collectively control the market by promoting COVID-19 vaccines as the only option for pregnant patients, despite other prophylactics and treatments which have a proven safety record in pregnancy. The cartel-like entities in this instance seek also to prevent pregnant patients from being able to make decisions related to these experimental vaccines which is informed by the emerging scientific data. In what can be likened to “fixing” the market in favor of administration of universal COVID-19 vaccines – thereby maintaining their monopoly on COVID-19 vaccines as the only treatment – the cartel-like entities have banded together to falsely assert that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and necessary. journals including the completely fabricated article from The Lancet [9] impugning the safety of hydroxychloroquine despite its 85-year safety record with a known safety profile greater than that of aspirin or acetaminophen.
Methods
The medical literature was reviewed for all peer-reviewed medical publications that reported morbidities and mortalities associated with the COVID-19 vaccines. VAERS was queried using the medalerts.org platform. Standard statistical analyses using Chi Square tests were used for comparisons. We purposely reviewed the influenza vaccines and the pertussis vaccines because these two vaccines in pregnancy have been advocated in the past to provide a risk / benefit ratio that is potentially favorable for the mother and baby. Spontaneous abortions (before 20 weeks’ gestation) and fetal deaths (past 20 weeks’ gestation) were included together as total pregnancy loss as VAERS database enterers may not have had the specific information and/or expertise to differentiate between these diagnoses.
Results
Medline Search documents 1,013 peer-reviewed publications showing that the experimental mRNA and DNA gene therapy injections are a failed strategy and have killed, injured, and endangered many [87].
VAERS analytics assessed the COVID-19 “vaccines” compared to all other vaccines, including the influenza vaccines and the pertussis vaccines, for outcomes including total deaths (Figures 1-2), menstrual abnormalities, (Figures 3-4), fetal malformations (Figures 5-6) and pregnancy losses (Figures 7-8). In all these comparisons there was a very significant increase in risk of the COVID-19 experimental gene therapy compared to all other vaccines (Figures 1-8). All P values are less than 0.0001 as per Chi Square analysis. The analytics are extremely robust so even large changes in the assumptions will have little impact on the statistical analysis.

prior occasions and expressed concerns, now shared by a number of colleagues, regarding (1) the safety of the COVID-19 experimental mRNA and DNA gene therapy injections in pregnancy, and (2) ABOG’s disconcerting September 2021 Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation, which has blatantly threatened constituents with revocation of their medical license for “providing misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine”, making reference to ABMS and FSMB [10]. The intimidating nature of ABOG’s September 2021 Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation is unprecedented.
ABOG’s Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation, while adopting a tone designed to dismiss all opposing or alternative views, provokes legitimate concern and critically important questions for both constituents and patients alike. These questions are intrinsic to a physician’s ability to treat patients free from conflict of interest due to fear of reprisal from ABOG (or others). Even more important, these questions concern matters essential to safeguarding and protecting the wellbeing of the pregnant mother and her child and are essential to upholding the physician’s oath to do no harm. First, what constitutes that which ABOG deems “misinformationabouttheCOVID-19vaccine”?Second, by whom and how is such “misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine” determined?
ABOG’s Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation fails to provide answers to these questions. ABOG neglects to acknowledge the growing body of scientific, peer-reviewed publications (1,013 references linked below [87]) that the experimental mRNA and DNA gene therapy injections are a failed strategy that have killed, injured, and endangered many people. ABOG’s widely circulated Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation has placed patients’ health in jeopardy while leaving constituents holding the proverbial bag as their medical license and livelihood hang in the balance. Patient safety is sacrificed as constituents toe the line – forced to choose between pushing experimental gene therapies shown to be dangerous to both mom and fetus or lose their livelihoods.
ABOG’s Statement Regarding Dissemination of COVID-19 Misinformation turns a blind eye to this ever-growing evidence and dodges these thorny issues by pointing to published statements made by the Federation of State
