Almost 8,000 people experienced homelessness in Minnesota on a single night in January 2022.1 The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted how homelessness and housing instability can make it difficult to follow public health guidelines and prevent the spread of infectious disease.
Homelessness can also cause premature aging and sharply reduce life expectancy.
So as I am already boiling with disgust that our government and leaders are so full of themselves that they think we don’t see ! It is absolutely disgusting that Americans politicians don’t care about anything or anyone else they should be ashamed and we should too for allowing them to get away with the bullshit!

The annual Point-in-Time count found that 7,917 people experienced homelessness on a single night in January 2022. This is nearly unchanged from 2019 and 2020 PIT counts. The 2021 statewide PIT count was lower than 2022, however, in 2021 only one region in Minnesota conducted an unsheltered count. While the total 2021 statewide PIT count was lower than 2022, the Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing counts were higher in 2021 than in 2022.

What is the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count?
The PIT Count is Minnesota’s annual count of all persons experiencing homelessness, in both sheltered and unsheltered situations. The PIT Count also happens nationwide every year and is required by HUD, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
During the PIT Count there is a large-scale community-wide effort to identify folks experiencing homelessness that may not otherwise be counted, namely those that are unsheltered, or living on the street or in a place not meant for habitation (such as a car or abandoned building). In Minnesota, we also count those that are doubled up (which means they are “couch hopping” or temporarily staying with family or friends).
Why is it Important?
The PIT illuminates the impact we as a community are having on reducing and ending homelessness (similar to a census). While it isn’t feasible to count every single person experiencing homelessness every day, counting on the same set of days each year provides a snapshot for comparison over time. Consistent questions asked every year across the state help us examine trends, watch for changes, and help better understand how to target resources.
Here are some ways PIT data is used:
At a national level by HUD and other agencies that fund Homeless Services initiatives
At the state level to inform Minnesota’s statewide plan to prevent and end homelessness
By regions (each known as a Continuum of Care) and individual agencies to make plans for addressing homelessness
By the media and by research groups
Who is Involved in the PIT Count?
While it looks different from state to state and from region to region, in Minnesota, there is a large-scale collaboration that brings together lots of different stakeholders. This collaboration ensures that the count is coordinated, that it follows the directives required by HUD, and that there is a clear path for the data to be combined into one final count.
During the PIT Count, street outreach workers, agency staff, and volunteers survey those experiencing homelessness in unsheltered and doubled-up situations. The majority of the PIT Count data, however, comes from the data entered into Minnesota’s Homelessness Management Information System (HMIS) by the Emergency Shelters, Transitional Housing programs, and Safe Haven programs that participate in HMIS. Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing programs that do not participate in HMIS (such as domestic violence shelters) also contribute data to the PIT Count.
How Do We Get the Numbers?
THERE ARE TWO COUNTS – SHELTERED AND UNSHELTERED
There are two counts that make up the PIT Count in Minnesota and different groups that collect the data for each count:
A sheltered count for those experiencing homelessness who are in Emergency Shelters, Transitional Housing, or Safe Haven programs on the night of the PIT. The sheltered count includes data from agencies that participate in HMIS as well as data from non-HMIS projects (such as domestic violence projects).
An unsheltered and doubled-up count of those experiencing homelessness who are on the street, in a place not meant for habitation, or temporarily staying with friends or family. The unsheltered and doubled-up count is collected by street outreach teams, volunteer surveyors, school liaisons, and other community partners using a face-to-face survey.
WAYS TO ADMINISTER THE COUNT
For Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, and Safe Haven agencies that participate in HMIS, the night of the PIT is business as usual! The data you enter into HMIS about the people your program served on the night of the PIT will be included in the final PIT Count.
For agencies with Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing programs that do not participate in HMIS, data may be collected through a face-to-face survey or (rarely) aggregate numbers. Each CoC will communicate with the non-HMIS agencies in their region to connect them with the PIT process.
The unsheltered and doubled-up count is collected through face-to-face surveys of folks experiencing homelessness.
AFTER PIT NIGHT
After PIT night, data entry continues, and data review, compilation, and cleanup begins! ICA, CoC Coordinators, and local PIT leads will reach out to agencies to clarify answers and identify data cleanup needs. To get a final PIT Count that is as accurate as possible, we rely on all those who are participating in the count to be diligent about collecting and entering data correctly!

Sec. 4. Policy and Actions Related to United States Central Bank Digital Currencies. (a) The policy of my Administration on a United States CBDC is as follows:
(i) Sovereign money is at the core of a well-functioning financial system, macroeconomic stabilization policies, and economic growth. My Administration places the highest urgency on research and development efforts into the potential design and deployment options of a United States CBDC. These efforts should include assessments of possible benefits and risks for consumers, investors, and businesses; financial stability and systemic risk; payment systems; national security; the ability to exercise human rights; financial inclusion and equity; and the actions required to launch a United States CBDC if doing so is deemed to be in the national interest.
(ii) My Administration sees merit in showcasing United States leadership and participation in international fora related to CBDCs and in multicountry conversations and pilot projects involving CBDCs. Any future dollar payment system should be designed in a way that is consistent with United States priorities (as outlined in section 4(a)(i) of this order) and democratic values, including privacy protections, and that ensures the global financial system has appropriate transparency, connectivity, and platform and architecture interoperability or transferability, as appropriate.
(iii) A United States CBDC may have the potential to support efficient and low-cost transactions, particularly for cross-border funds transfers and payments, and to foster greater access to the financial system, with fewer of the risks posed by private sector-administered digital assets. A United States CBDC that is interoperable with CBDCs issued by other monetary authorities could facilitate faster and lower-cost cross-border payments and potentially boost economic growth, support the continued centrality of the United States within the international financial system, and help to protect the unique role that the dollar plays in global finance. There are also, however, potential risks and downsides to consider. We should prioritize timely assessments of potential benefits and risks under various designs to ensure that the United States remains a leader in the international financial system.
(b) Within 180 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, the Secretary of Commerce, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, the Director of National Intelligence, and the heads of other relevant agencies, shall submit to the President a report on the future of money and payment systems, including the conditions that drive broad adoption of digital assets; the extent to which technological innovation may influence these outcomes; and the implications for the United States financial system, the modernization of and changes to payment systems, economic growth, financial inclusion, and national security. This report shall be coordinated through the interagency process described in section 3 of this order. Based on the potential United States CBDC design options, this report shall include an analysis of:
(i) the potential implications of a United States CBDC, based on the possible design choices, for national interests, including implications for economic growth and stability;
(ii) the potential implications a United States CBDC might have on financial inclusion;
(iii) the potential relationship between a CBDC and private sector-administered digital assets;
(iv) the future of sovereign and privately produced money globally and implications for our financial system and democracy;
(v) the extent to which foreign CBDCs could displace existing currencies and alter the payment system in ways that could undermine United States financial centrality;
(vi) the potential implications for national security and financial crime, including an analysis of illicit financing risks, sanctions risks, other law enforcement and national security interests, and implications for human rights; and
(vii) an assessment of the effects that the growth of foreign CBDCs may have on United States interests generally.
(c) The Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Chairman of the Federal Reserve) is encouraged to continue to research and report on the extent to which CBDCs could improve the efficiency and reduce the costs of existing and future payments systems, to continue to assess the optimal form of a United States CBDC, and to develop a strategic plan for Federal Reserve and broader United States Government action, as appropriate, that evaluates the necessary steps and requirements for the potential implementation and launch of a United States CBDC. The Chairman of the Federal Reserve is also encouraged to evaluate the extent to which a United States CBDC, based on the potential design options, could enhance or impede the ability of monetary policy to function effectively as a critical macroeconomic stabilization tool.
(d) The Attorney General, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, shall:

Buzzfeed reports that most of the cases were referred to US attorneys for prosecution but in an apparent quid pro quo scenario, the US attorneys send the cases back to the CIA to “handle them internally.” As a result of this scenario, these child-abusing monsters face no legal ramifications. At most, according to the report, they may lose their job or security clearance.
As Buzzfeed points out, some of these crimes are utterly horrifying and involve toddlers.
One employee had sexual contact with a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old. He was fired. A second employee purchased three sexually explicit videos of young girls, filmed by their mothers. He resigned. A third employee estimated that he had viewed up to 1,400 sexually abusive images of children while on agency assignments. The records do not say what action, if any, the CIA took against him. A contractor who arranged for sex with an undercover FBI agent posing as a child had his contract revoked.
Unfortunately, after that bill was introduced, it went nowhere — just like the prosecution of the child predators inside the CIA.
This rampant abuse should be on the front page of every newspaper in the country, yet it remains buried under divisive headlines about Pelosi’s husband and Kanye.

Human Trafficking Specialty License Plate Design Contest
Overview
As authorized by House Bill 2633 (87th Legislature, Regular Session), the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is working with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) to create a “Stop Human Trafficking” specialty license plate. Proceeds from sales of the license plate will be used to help youth survivors of human trafficking. Deadline for contest submissions is April 30, 2022.
Contest Rules
Designs must be original work and will be checked for copyright infringement. Each design must be submitted on the TxDMV specialty license plate template. The template indicates the area the designer may use when designing the plate. The TxDMV Specialty License Plate Agreement must be completed and returned along with the design of the plate. This will grant TxDMV the authority to use the intellectual property of the artwork for the plate. To request the TxDMV specialty license plate template and the TxDMV Specialty License Plate Agreement, email human_trafficking@hhs.texas.gov and include “REQUEST TXDMV FORMS” in the subject line.
The license plate design must not include shocking or disturbing images to depict human trafficking. Such images promote myths and misconceptions about this crime that can re-traumatize survivors. This explanation brilliantly vindicates and validates every single American who has questions and doubts about the 2020 election. Beautifully done.
So, without further ado, here’s the best explanation you’ll ever read on why so many Americans believe the 2020 election was a sham:
I think I’ve had discussions w/enough Boomer-tier Trump supporters who believe the 2020 election was fraudulent to extract a general theory about their perspective. It is also the perspective of most of the people at the Capitol on 1/6, and probably even Trump himself.
Most believe some or all of the theories involving midnight ballots, voting machines, etc, but what you find when you talk to them is that, while they’ll defend those positions w/info they got from Hannity or Breitbart or whatever, they’re not particularly attached to them.
Here are the facts – actual, confirmed facts – that shape their perspective:
The FBI/etc spied on the 2016 Trump campaign using evidence manufactured by the Clinton campaign. We now know that all involved knew it was fake from Day 1 (see: Brennan’s July 2016 memo, etc).
These are Tea Party people. The types who give their kids a pocket Constitution for their birthday and have Founding Fathers memes in their bios. The intel community spying on a presidential campaign using fake evidence including forged documents is a big deal to them.
Everyone involved lied about their involvement as long as they could. We only learned the DNC paid for the manufactured evidence because of a court order. Comey denied on TV knowing the DNC paid for it, when we have emails from a year earlier proving that he knew.
This was true with everyone, from CIA Dir Brennan & Adam Schiff – who were on TV saying they’d seen clear evidence of collusion w/Russia, while admitting under oath behind closed doors that they hadn’t – all the way down the line. In the end we learned that it was ALL fake.
At first, many Trump people were worried there must be some collusion, because every media & intel agency wouldn’t make it up out of nothing. When it was clear that they had made it up, people expected a reckoning, and shed many illusions about their gov’t when it didn’t happen.
We know as fact:
a) The Steele dossier was the sole evidence used to justify spying on the Trump campaign,
b) The FBI knew the Steele dossier was a DNC op,
c) Steele’s source told the FBI the info was unserious,
d) they did not inform the court of any of this and kept spying.
Trump supporters know the collusion case front and back. They went from worrying the collusion must be real, to suspecting it might be fake, to realizing it was a scam, then watched as every institution – agencies, the press, Congress, academia – gaslit them for another year.
Worse, collusion was used to scare people away from working in the administration. They knew their entire lives would be investigated. Many quit because they were being bankrupted by legal fees. The DoJ, press, & gov’t destroyed lives and actively subverted an elected admin.
This is where people whose political identity was largely defined by a naive belief in what they learned in Civics class began to see the outline of a Regime that crossed all institutional boundaries. Because it had stepped out of the shadows to unite against an interloper.
GOP propaganda still has many of them thinking in terms of partisan binaries, but A LOT of Trump supporters see that the Regime is not partisan. They all know that the same institutions would have taken opposite sides if it was a Tulsi Gabbard vs Jeb Bush election.
It’s hard to describe to people on the left (who are used to thinking of gov’t as a conspiracy… Watergate, COINTELPRO, WMD, etc) how shocking & disillusioning this was for people who encourage their sons to enlist in the Army, and hate people who don’t stand for the Anthem.
They could have managed the shock if it only involved the government. But the behavior of the corporate press is really what radicalized them. They hate journalists more than they hate any politician or gov’t official, because they feel most betrayed by them.
The idea that the press is driven by ratings/sensationalism became untenable. If that were true, they’d be all over the Epstein story. The corporate press is the propaganda arm of the Regime they now see in outline. Nothing anyone says will ever make them unsee that, period.
This is profoundly disorienting. Many of them don’t know for certain whether ballots were faked in November 2020, but they know for absolute certain that the press, the FBI, etc would lie to them if there was. They have every reason to believe that, and it’s probably true.
They watched the press behave like animals for four years. Tens of millions of people will always see Kavanaugh as a gang rapist, based on nothing, because of CNN. And CNN seems proud of that. They led a lynch mob against a high school kid. They cheered on a summer of riots.
They always claimed the media had liberal bias, fine, whatever. They still thought the press would admit truth if they were cornered. Now they don’t. It’s a different thing to watch them invent stories whole cloth in order to destroy regular lives and spark mass violence.
Time Mag told us that during the 2020 riots, there were weekly conference calls involving, among others, leaders of the protests, the local officials who refused to stop them, and media people who framed them for political effect. In Ukraine we call that a color revolution.
Throughout the summer, Democrat governors took advantage of COVID to change voting procedures. It wasn’t just the mail-ins (they lowered signature matching standards, etc). After the collusion scam, the fake impeachment, Trump people expected shenanigans by now.
Re: “fake impeachment”, we now know that Trump’s request for Ukraine to cooperate w/the DOJ regarding Biden’s $ activities in Ukraine was in support of an active investigation being pursued by the FBI and Ukraine AG at the time, and so a completely legitimate request.
Then you get the Hunter laptop scandal. Big Tech ran a full-on censorship campaign against a major newspaper to protect a political candidate. Period. Everyone knows it, all of the Tech companies now admit it was a “mistake” – but, ya know, the election’s over, so who cares?
Goes w/o saying, but: If the NY Times had Don Jr’s laptop, full of pics of him smoking crack and engaging in group sex, lots of lurid family drama, emails describing direct corruption and backed up by the CEO of the company they were using, the NYT wouldn’t have been banned.
Think back: Stories about Trump being pissed on by Russian prostitutes and blackmailed by Putin were promoted as fact, and the only evidence was a document paid for by his opposition and disavowed by its source. The NY Post was banned for reporting on true information.
The reaction of Trump people to all this was not, “no fair!” That’s how they felt about Romney’s “binders of women” in 2012. This is different. Now they see, correctly, that every institution is captured by people who will use any means to exclude them from the political process.
And yet they showed up in record numbers to vote. He got 13m more votes than in 2016, 10m more than Clinton got! As election night dragged on, they allowed themselves some hope. But when the four critical swing states (and only those states) went dark at midnight, they knew.
Over the ensuing weeks, they got shuffled around by grifters and media scam artists selling them conspiracy theories. They latched onto one, then another increasingly absurd theory as they tried to put a concrete name on something very real.
Media & Tech did everything to make things worse. Everything about the election was strange – the changes to procedure, unprecedented mail-in voting, the delays, etc – but rather than admit that and make everything transparent, they banned discussion of it (even in DMs!).
Everyone knows that, just as Don Jr’s laptop would’ve been the story of the century, if everything about the election dispute was the same, except the parties were reversed, suspicions about the outcome would’ve been taken very seriously. See 2016 for proof.
Even the courts’ refusal of the case gets nowhere w/them, because of how the opposition embraced mass political violence. They’ll say, w/good reason: What judge will stick his neck out for Trump knowing he’ll be destroyed in the media as a violent mob burns down his house?
It’s a fact, according to Time Magazine, that mass riots were planned in cities across the country if Trump won. Sure, they were “protests”, but they were planned by the same people as during the summer, and everyone knows what it would have meant. Judges have families, too.
Forget the ballot conspiracies. It’s a fact that governors used COVID to unconstitutionally alter election procedures (the Constitution states that only legislatures can do so) to help Biden to make up for a massive enthusiasm gap by gaming the mail-in ballot system.
They knew it was unconstitutional, it’s right there in plain English. But they knew the cases wouldn’t see court until after the election. And what judge will toss millions of ballots because a governor broke the rules? The threat of mass riots wasn’t implied, it was direct.
a) The entrenched bureaucracy & security state subverted Trump from Day 1,
b) The press is part of the operation,
c) Election rules were changed,
d) Big Tech censors opposition,
e) Political violence is legitimized & encouraged,
f) Trump is banned from social media.
They were led down some rabbit holes, but they are absolutely right that their gov’t is monopolized by a Regime that believes they are beneath representation, and will observe no limits to keep them getting it.

May 25 (UPI) — Drivers in the United States will see the most expensive gas prices in seven years, experts say.
While gas prices have stabilized since the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack, AAA expects prices to hover above $3 per gallon in many parts of the United States. That’s a rise of 17 cents per gallon over the past month.
The last time prices were this high for Memorial Day weekend was 2014.
The Energy Information Administration said Monday gas prices are up by at least $1 compared to 2020 in virtually every segment of the country.
“AAA expects 37 million Americans to travel, mostly by car and plane, for the Memorial Day holiday weekend,” AAA spokeswoman Jeanette McGee said in a statement.
“That is a 60% increase over last year’s holiday and a strong indication that summer travel is going to be largely popular.
The national average on Tuesday was $3.04 per gallon, according to AAA. California has the most expensive gas ($4.17 per gallon) and Mississippi and Louisiana have the least expensive fuel ($2.71).
“With the increase in travel demand, gas prices are going to be expensive no matter where you fill up, so plan ahead,” McGee added.
“Holiday road trippers may come across some gas stations with low fuel supply in popular travel destinations, like beaches, mountains or national parks.”

Cost of gas in U.S. rises to highest level in 6 years due to pipeline attack
May 18 (UPI) — The average price for gasoline in the United States has risen to the highest level in years and is well over $3 per gallon.
As of Tuesday, the national average is $3.04 per gallon — the highest average in six years.
AAA says the cyberattack that disrupted the Colonial Pipeline last week has been a significant factor in the rise. The pipeline, which carries gasoline from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast, resumed operating last weekend.
The disruption created limited supplies of gasoline in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, AAA noted, and prices in those states climbed as much as 21 cents per gallon last week.
Over the past week, the national average increased 8 cents.
With the pipeline returning to normal operation, gas prices in the southeastern states and the nation have stabilized, AAA said.
“The Southeast will continue to experience tight supply this week as terminals and gas stations are refueled,” AAA spokesperson Jeanette McGee said in a statement.
“Despite the higher pump prices, Americans still take their road trips, but just may not travel as far as originally planned, or go to their planned destination and spend a little less.”
AAA says crude oil prices and gasoline demand will be the greatest factors in how far gas prices will climb.
Virginia and Tennessee have seen the greatest increases over the past week (18 cents), followed by Alabama (17 cents), Maryland (16 cents), Mississippi (12 cents), West Virginia (10 cents) and Texas (10 cents).
As of Tuesday, California has the most expensive gas in the United States, at $4.14 per gallon, followed by Hawaii, Nevada and Washington state. Louisiana, $2.72 per gallon, has the nation’s least expensive gas, followed by Mississippi, Texas and Missouri. (0)

President Donald Trump Thursday insisted, while gas prices are creeping up to new highs for Memorial Day weekend, that the United States is “energy independent no more,” but while he was in the White House, prices remained low.
“I’m sorry to say the gasoline prices that you will be confronted with are far higher than they were just a short number of months ago where we had gasoline under $2 a gallon,” Trump said on his website.
“Remember as you’re watching the meter tick, and your dollars pile up, how great of a job Donald Trump did as President. Soon Russia and the Middle East will be making a fortune on oil, and you will be saying how good it was to have me as your President.” “Wasn’t it great to be energy independent, but we are energy independent no more,” he added. “Shame, shame, shame. Other than that, have a great Memorial Day Weekend!”
I was having a conversation with someone about this topic just this morning. Isn’t it ironic that Biden had no problem whatsoever closing down the pipeline and putting all those hard working US citizen’s out of a great paying job in which to support their families? And THEN… TURNS AROUND and gives Putin exactly what he wants…??? And to top it off when we were the number one in the gas industry while President Trump was ruling the roost, now we have no status! I read this article from The Daily Caller and thought… WOW Biden’s response is actually quite disturbing!
Joe Biden reportedly test drove an F-150 Lightning, Ford’s new all-electric truck, on Tuesday.

Biden made a visit to one of Ford’s driving courses and test-drove the new electric truck with Secret Service tailing him, according to CNN.
Biden eventually pulled up to the waiting press corps, saying, “This sucker’s quick.” When he was asked if he would buy one of the trucks, he responded that he would, adding that the truck went from zero to 60 miles per hour in approximately 4.4 seconds. This appears to be information he was not supposed to share, according to CNN.
“Mr. President, can I ask you a quick question on Israel before you drive away, since it’s so important?” one reporter asked.
“No, you can’t. Not unless you get in front of the car as I step on it,”Biden responded.
After inciting a few laughs, Biden said “I’m only teasing” and took off again across the course.

This is just a heads up regarding health insurance from a lady in my hometown in Texas. Her husband works for an insurance company and according to him the health insurance companies are now asking a lot of questions regarding Covid-19 and the vaccines. Apparently they are getting leary because the vaccine is only approved for emergency use and has not gone through complete testing and because of all the deaths that that they are hearing about.
I can not validate the subject because I haven’t researched it yet. I just saw her message. However, I see no reason why she would make it up.

The Colonial Pipeline, which runs 5,500 miles and supplies almost half the gas, diesel, and jet fuel for the East Coast was hit with a successful ransomware attack. That means that the hackers got access to the files, prevented Colonial Pipeline from being to get their own data, and offered to allow them access again for a fee. Of course, you can’t trust a criminal in a situation like that, so even paying the fee wouldn’t guarantee that the problem would go away.

In this case, it’s a particularly large problem. That’s why the U.S. Department of Transportation has issued an emergency declaration for all the states that could potentially be impacted by this along with DC. This pipeline supplies fuel to Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.null
Will this lead to a significant increase in the cost of gas in those states? We don’t know for sure at this point. According to the experts, it’s still possible for them to fix the problem and get the gas flowing against before it creates a shortage. The cyber division of the Department of Homeland Security believes a group based out of Russia called DarkSide is believed to be responsible. Previously, that group has hit an Office Depot subsidiary called CompuCom and a division of Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Typically, they ask for millions of dollars to return access to the hacked files.
Although we certainly don’t want to see higher gas prices, what we should really be concerned about is governments across the globe taking note of this weakness. If we ever do get into a serious conflict with Russia, China, Iran, or one of our other adversaries, cyberattacks could make a lot of sense. In a serious conflict, they could do an awful lot of damage and in a less serious one, they could use it to send the message that they can cause us pain with their cyberattacks just like we can cause them pain with our military. Overall, the CDC paid $628,000 for data that gave them access to location data from at least 55 million cellphone users, the Epoch Times reported.
According to the contracts that were obtained by the publication, the contracts that were approved under emergency review due to the COVID-19 pandemic were aimed at providing the CDC “with the necessary data to continue critical emergency response functions related to evaluating the impact of visits to key points of interest, stay at home orders, closures, re-openings and other public health communications related to mask mandate, and other merging research areas on community transmission of SARS-CoV-2.”
The tracking data would be used to “assess home-by-hour behaviors (i.e. curfew analysis) by exploring the percentage of mobile devices at home during a specific period of time,” the CDC said. The data could also be used by integrating it with other information “to provide a comprehensive picture of movement/travel of persons during the COVID-19 pandemic to better understand mandatory stay-at-home orders, business closure, school re-openings and other non-pharmaceutical interventions in states and cities.”
The CDC also said that it could use data to connect the forced closures of bars and restaurants with COVID-19 infections and death rates. The organization also said that it will also try to assess the impact of state restrictions on close contact between people outside of their homes.
The data could also be used to monitor whether people comply with the mandated or recommended quarantines after they arrive from a different state. Also, the data could be used to examine the correlation between mobility patterns and spikes in COVID-19 cases at facilities such as churches, concerts and grocery stores, as well as movement restrictions such as curfews to show “patterns” and “compliance.”

A new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows some support for changing the number of immigrants and asylum-seekers allowed into the country. About 4 in 10 U.S. adults say the level of immigration and asylum-seekers should be lowered, while about 2 in 10 say they should be higher, according to the poll. About a third want the numbers to remain the same.
The decrease in border crossings followed Biden’s announcement in early January that Mexico would take back Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans under a pandemic-era rule that denies migrants the right to seek asylum as part of an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. At the same time, the U.S. agreed to admit up to 30,000 a month of those four nationalities on humanitarian parole if they apply online, enter at an airport and find a financial sponsor.
Instead, the reality is that the Fiscal Year 2023 is heading tobreak the record of illegal immigration from the last two fiscal years, when over 5 million illegal aliens entered or attempted to enter the United States, with most being released into the United States.
Migrant encounters at the southern border have already surpassed the one million mark for Fiscal Year 2023, multiple Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources tell Fox News, marking an unprecedented pace for encounters.
As of Friday, the total migrant encounters at the border were at 1,008,217 for the fiscal year, which began in October. Of those, 87.8% were single adults. Just 328,454 were expelled under Title 42 — the pandemic-era protocol that allows border agents to rapidly expel border crossers.
There were more than 1.7 million encounters overall in FY 2021 and over 2.3 million in FY 2022. The first months of FY 2023 have outpaced those of the prior fiscal year. This time last year, numbers for FY22 through March 1 were 839,819—well under the 1 million mark.

Following The HighWire’s exposé spotlighting the large role WHO Chief Scientist Jeremy Farrar had in suppressing the lab origin debate in 2020, a Congressional Committee, and now the rest of the mainstream media, are zeroing in on the former Director of the Wellcome Trust, calling for his resignation from the W.H.O.
Stiff resistance is building against the incoming chief scientist of the World Health Organization because of his ties to a February 2020 paper that quashed a theory the coronavirus originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
Many experts are calling for Dr. Jeremy Farrar, former director of the Wellcome Trust nonprofit in London, to be fired even before he takes over his post as the WHO’s chief scientist in the second quarter of this year, The Daily Mail reported Tuesday.
Emails uncovered by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic showed the British doctor made direct edits to a scientific paper called “Proximal Origin,” which was prompted by Dr. Anthony Fauci, then the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, and written in February 2020 to quash the theory the coronavirus escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
A memo by the subcommittee dated Sunday said, “Dr. Farrar is not credited as having any involvement in the drafting and publication of Proximal Origin. According to new evidence obtained by the Select Subcommittee, Dr. Farrar led the drafting process and in fact made direct edits to the substance of the publication.”
Dr. Richard Ebright, a microbiologist at Rutgers University, told The Daily Mail, “In this context, the appointment of Dr. Farrar as a chief scientist at the WHO is a major unforced error. The WHO would do well to review and revoke the appointment.”
Dr. David Livermore, a microbiologist at the University of East Anglia in Great Britain, also said the agency might want to reconsider hiring Farrar.
”If he is to lead the WHO, it would be wise for Dr Farrar to commission investigations of COVID’s origins entirely independent of the organization’s hierarchy, himself included,” Livermore told The Daily Mail.
The select subcommittee said in the memo Farrar made a crucial edit on Feb. 17, 2020, the day Proximal Origin was to be published. In an email to Kristian Andersen, a professor at Scripps Research, Farrar suggested to change from “unlikely” to “improbable” that “SARS-CoV-2 emerged through laboratory manipulation of an existing SARS-related coronavirus.”
Robert Moffit, who has written extensively on the origins of the coronavirus for the Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Mail, “I don’t think he should take the job.”
“He should refrain from taking any position like that until these matters are cleared up and published,” Moffit said. “We don’t want someone to take over the WHO who may… refrain from taking a position until all these issues [on Covid origins] are cleared up.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House voted unanimously Friday to declassify U.S. intelligence information about the origins of COVID-19, a sweeping show of bipartisan support near the third anniversary of the start of the deadly pandemic.
The 419-0 vote was final congressional approval of the bill, sending it to President Joe Biden’s desk. It’s unclear whether the president will sign the measure into law, and the White House said the matter was under review. … If signed into law, the measure would require within 90 days the declassification of “any and all information relating to potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the origin of the Coronavirus Disease.”
That includes information about research and other activities at the lab and whether any researchers grew ill.
WASHINGTON—The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic held a hearing on “Investigating the Origins of COVID-19” to gather facts about the origination of the virus that has claimed nearly seven million lives globally. At the hearing, several of the witnesses pointed to how the science, facts, and evidence point to a lab leak in Wuhan.

Dr. Jamie Metzl, Ph.D., senior fellow at the Atlantic Council said in an opening statement, “If we do not get to the bottom of what went wrong with the COVID-19 pandemic, if we fail in our efforts to fearlessly understand all shortcomings and shore up the vulnerabilities this crisis has so clearly exposed, the victims of the next pandemic, our children and grandchildren, will ask us why we failed to protect when we knew what was at stake and had the chance.”
Mounting evidence continues to show that COVID-19 may have originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), testified how science indicates COVID-19 infections were likely the result of an accidental lab leak in Wuhan. His conclusion is based on the biology of the virus itself and unusual actions in and around Wuhan in 2019, including gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
Nicholas Wade—the former science and health editor at the New York Times, and former editor of Science and Nature—testified how Drs. Fauci and Collins used unverified data to dismiss the lab leak theory in favor of natural transmission.
Jamie Metzl testified how China’s government destroyed samples, hid records, imprisoned Chinese journalists, prevented Chinese scientists from saying or writing anything on pandemic origins without prior government approval, actively spread misinformation, and prevented an evidence-based investigation.
The mainstream media downplayed—and even denied—the scientific theory that COVID-19 emerged from the WIV.
Nicholas Wade testified about the campaign to discredit the lab leak theory. He pointed out that scientists kept in line with the natural origin camp led by Drs. Fauci and Collins because of their dependence on government grants and that the media failed to challenge the forced narrative.
All witnesses agreed that the possibility of COVID-19 originating from a lab is not a conspiracy theory.

Subcommittee Chairman Dr. Wenstrup (R-Ohio.) asked witnesses whether it is critical to investigate the origin of COVID-19. All witnesses answered yes. Chairman Wenstrup also raised concern about gain-of-function research, which Dr. Redfield defined during the hearing as altering a pathogen to increase either transmissibility or pathogenicity.
Subcommittee Chairman Wenstrup: “In your expert opinion was the Wuhan Institute conducting gain-of-function research on a batch of coronaviruses?”
Dr. Redfield: “Absolutely.”
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) noted that after raising concerns to experts and the World Health Organization that COVID-19 may have originated in a lab in Wuhan, China, and urging Dr. Fauci to investigate the origins of the pandemic, Dr. Redfield was excluded from calls related to the origins of the pandemic.
Rep. Malliotakis: “Why do you think you were excluded from those calls?”
Dr. Redfield: “It was told to me that they wanted a single narrative and that I obviously had a different point of view.”
Dr. Redfield added: “If you really want to be truthful, it’s antithetical to science. Science has debate, and they squashed any debate.”
Scientists, including Dr. Fauci, then drafted a paper arguing COVID-19’s proximal origins to animals at a wet market.
Rep. Malliotakis: “Do you think that this paper does hide the truth?”
Dr. Redfield: “I think it’s an inaccurate paper that basically was part of a narrative that they were creating.”
Rep. Malliotakis also warned that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) may have been funding gain-of-function research on coronaviruses at the WIV.
Rep. Malliotakis: “Is it likely that American tax dollars funded the gain-of-function research that created this virus?”
Dr. Redfield: I think it did, not only from NIH, but from the State Department, USAID and DOD.”
Rep. Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa), who has expertise publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals, asked why the scientific community dangerously suppressed evidence that COVID-19 may have originated from a lab.
“There is, as you said Dr. Metzl, extraordinary circumstantial evidence that this came from a lab.
“I don’t know why the authors didn’t want to state this, they did not want to have the scientific conversation and dialogue, why they wanted to obfuscate and suppress the truth, or even have a debate about the origins of COVID-19.
“Was it for personal financial gain? Was it to hide U.S. financial interest into the Wuhan Institute of Virology indirectly? Was it to suppress the revelation that there was perhaps gain-of-function research that had been prohibited in the United States? Or were they concerned that a conspiracy would develop that it was bioterrorism?
“I would state that their suppression and obfuscation has led to the exact mistrust and conspiracy theories that they may have tried to avoid.”
Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Colo.) and Dr. Redfield discussed unusual actions at the WIV in September 2019.
Rep. Lesko: “Do you believe we can have certainty that the virus did not come from the Wuhan lab and that U.S. funding was not used for coronavirus research?”
Dr. Redfield: “Absolutely we cannot do that. It’s now declassified now, but in September 2019, three things happened in that lab.One, they deleted the sequences. That is highly irregular—researchers don’t usually like to do that. Second, they commanded the command and control of the lab from civilian control to military control. Highly unusual. And the third thing they did, which I think is really telling, is they let a contractor re-do the ventilation system in that laboratory. There is strong evidence there was a significant event in that laboratory in September 2019.”
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) warned that the media downplayed, discredited, and silenced voices of experts sounding the alarm that COVID-19 may have originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
Chairman Comer: “Would you agree that the scientific establishment used the media to downplay the lab leak theory?”
Mr. Wade: “I think the media was used in this particular campaign to establish the natural origin theory.”
“The scientific community is very afraid to speak up on political issues. I think the reason is that government grants are handed out through the system of peer-reviewed committees. You don’t want any single scientist on your peer-review committee to vote against, because you won’t get your grant – it’s so competitive. Therefore, scientists are very reluctant to say anything that’s politically divisive or turn other scientists off against them. This means that they cannot be relied upon in the way that we would like them to be independent and forthright and call it as they see it.”
Comer: “Was there science available to make such an unequivocal statement against the possibility of a lab leak that early on in February of 2020?”

Dr. Fauci maintains COVID outbreak caused by ‘natural occurrence’

“A lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab and was being studied in the lab and then came out of the lab,” Fauci told anchor Jim Acosta.
“But if that’s the definition of a lab leak Jim, then that’s still a natural occurrence.”
Fauci said it could also be possible that a lab leak occurred after someone took a virus from the environment and manipulated it before accidentally infecting another person, kickstarting the outbreak, which has killed nearly seven million people worldwide.
He also made a point of noting that no investigative agency tasked with investigating the origins of the virus by President Biden in 2021 found evidence of nefarious activity at the lab.

The perennial gun-control debate in America did not begin here. The same arguments for and against were made in the 1920s in the chaos of Germany’s Weimar Republic, which opted for gun registration. Law-abiding persons complied with the law, but the Communists and Nazis committing acts of political violence did not.
In 1931, Weimar authorities discovered plans for a Nazi takeover in which Jews would be denied food and persons refusing to surrender their guns within 24 hours would be executed. They were written by Werner Best, a future Gestapo official. In reaction to such threats, the government authorized the registration of all firearms and the confiscation thereof, if required for “public safety.” The interior minister warned that the records must not fall into the hands of any extremist group.
In 1933, the ultimate extremist group, led by Adolf Hitler, seized power and used the records to identify, disarm, and attack political opponents and Jews. Constitutional rights were suspended, and mass searches for and seizures of guns and dissident publications ensued. Police revoked gun licenses of Social Democrats and others who were not “politically reliable.”
During the five years of repression that followed, society was “cleansed” by the National Socialist regime. Undesirables were placed in camps where labor made them “free,” and normal rights of citizenship were taken from Jews. The Gestapo banned independent gun clubs and arrested their leaders. Gestapo counsel Werner Best issued a directive to the police forbidding issuance of firearm permits to Jews.
In 1938, Hitler signed a new Gun Control Act. Now that many “enemies of the state” had been removed from society, some restrictions could be slightly liberalized, especially for Nazi Party members. But Jews were prohibited from working in the firearms industry, and .22 caliber hollow-point ammunition was banned.
The time had come to launch a decisive blow to the Jewish community, to render it defenseless so that its “ill-gotten” property could be redistributed as an entitlement to the German “Volk.” The German Jews were ordered to surrender all their weapons, and the police had the records on all who had registered them. Even those who gave up their weapons voluntarily were turned over to the Gestapo.
This took place in the weeks before what became known as the Night of the Broken Glass, or Kristallnacht, occurred in November 1938. That the Jews were disarmed before it, minimizing any risk of resistance, is the strongest evidence that the pogrom was planned in advance. An incident was needed to justify unleashing the attack.
That incident would be the shooting of a German diplomat in Paris by a teenage Polish Jew. Hitler directed propaganda minister Josef Goebbels to orchestrate the Night of the Broken Glass. This massive operation, allegedly conducted as a search for weapons, entailed the ransacking of homes and businesses, and the arson of synagogues.
SS chief Heinrich Himmler decreed that 20 years be served in a concentration camp by any Jew possessing a firearm. Rusty revolvers and bayonets from the Great War were confiscated from Jewish veterans who had served with distinction. Twenty thousand Jewish men were thrown into concentration camps, and had to pay ransoms to get released.
The U.S. media covered the above events. And when France fell to Nazi invasion in 1940, the New York Times reported that the French were deprived of rights such as free speech and firearm possession just as the Germans had been. Frenchmen who failed to surrender their firearms within 24 hours were subject to the death penalty.
No wonder that in 1941, just days before the Pearl Harbor attack, Congress reaffirmed Second Amendment rights and prohibited gun registration. In 1968, bills to register guns were debated, with opponents recalling the Nazi experience and supporters denying that the Nazis ever used registration records to confiscate guns. The bills were defeated, as every such proposal has been ever since, including recent “universal background check” bills.
As in Weimar Germany, some well-meaning people today advocate severe restrictions, including bans and registration, on gun ownership by law-abiding persons. Such proponents are in no sense “Nazis,” any more than were the Weimar officials who promoted similar restrictions. And it would be a travesty to compare today’s situation to the horrors of Nazi Germany.
Still, as history teaches, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
